Lensing Media is one of the largest publishing houses in Germany. A company whose history began in 1870 and which today is an integral part of the media market in the eastern Ruhr region and western Westphalia.
The company commissioned us to implement a design created in Figma. In addition to an individual child theme, we relied on the WordPress block editor (aka Gutenberg) for the implementation and also created individual blocks.
Creation Of The New Website
Lensing Media had the entire design created in advance and made it available to us via Figma. After a detailed discussion with the customer, we started implementing the website with a standard WordPress theme.
However, it turned out that the effort was too high to achieve the desired goal with this theme. We therefore reconsidered the entire process and suggested the implementation with the Astra theme and the Spectra plugin, based on the WordPress block editor. No sooner said than done.
Based on the Astra theme, we implemented the design 1:1. In order to meet the individual requirements professionally, we create a child theme. This ensures that future updates are also possible without any problems. We also programmed a plugin with individual blocks for the WordPress block editor.
Content By The Customer
As Lensing Media is a publishing group, the customer wanted to maintain the content of its group website itself. Thanks to the WordPress standards, the choice for the WordPress block editor and the individual blocks, the customer had the ideal tools at hand to enter the content himself.
